Copperton Wind Farm Project, as an Independent Power Producer in South Africa, is obligated to fulfil certain requirements by the Department of Energy, in particular in terms of Socio-Economic Development (SED) and Enterprise Development (ED) spend and job creation. For this reason, Copperton Wind Farm adopted internal procedures to ensure as much as possible the creation of job and business opportunities for locals along the project construction phase, with the purpose to maximize benefits for the Siyathemba Local Municipality.

When construction will be completed and the plant will start operating, a Community Trust has been established.
